After completing primary education at a convent school, my father enrolled me in Hira Girls' High School. The transition was daunting - new environment, unfamiliar faces, and the leap from Kannada-medium to English-medium left me feeling insecure. Yet, my teachers, classmates, and seniors ensured I never felt out of place. Instead, they became pillars in shaping the person I am today My first three years at Hira laid the foundation for my understanding of life. Today, I take immense pride in having completed high school, PUC, and my degree under one roof. Here, I met thousands, attended countless lectures, and gained theoretical and practical knowledge across disciplines.But my Hira journey didn't end as a student. I returned as an Islamic Studies lecturer, teaching for four unforgettable years. This role let me witness the institution's transformative impact across generations- a privilege I hold dear.Hira teaches that growth is perpetual. My name is Safa Saniya, and I am a former student of Hira Girls’ High School. Reflecting on my time at Hira fills me with deep gratitude and nostalgia. It was not just a school to me—it was a turning point in my life, both academically and, more importantly, Islamically.
Hira provided a nurturing and spiritually uplifting environment. It was through Hira that Allah سبحانه وتعالى guided me, surrounding me with teachers, friends, and even non-teaching staff who positively impacted my journey.
I still remember the wise words of Rukhsana Ma'am, ( who was teaching Islamic studies)once said: "Marks do not define your Deen. If you score 100 but fail to apply even one principle practically, it holds no value. But if you score less and live by what you’ve learned, that is true success." That message has stayed with me ever since.
